CASA LIBERTAS HONORS ITS HERITAGE WITH THE ASOCIACIÓN ARGENTINA DE POLO
Casa Libertas honours its long history with the Asociación Argentina de Polo (AAP),
as one of the founding families of the AAP, in 1922.
HERITAGE & POLO
The origins of the AAP actually traces back to 1892. Various families including the Benitz, joined fellow visionaries in Buenos Aires to establish the River Plate Polo Association. Thirty years later, in 1922, Benitz and other families, with delegates, joined with regional organizations to form the Asociación Argentina de Polo. The family’s pioneering estancias, including, Estancia La California and Estancia Los Algarrobos, active in livestock and horses, played vital roles in the sport and life that gave rise to polo's enduring legacy.
Today, over 100 years later it remains the governing body of Argentine polo and a respected global authority with strong ties to the United States Polo Association and the Hurlingham Polo Association in the U.K.
In 2022, Casa Libertas created, “For The Love of Polo,” a special edition book for the AAP, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Asociación Argentina de Polo.
